Oh My god In Poptropica Part 3

Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but we’re still reporting on two of the Valentines for Villains dates from earlier this week. As you know, we voted on a date for the Binary Bard (a.k.a. Mordred). As one of the most feared and powerful Poptropica Villains, he was having a tough time finding someone to take out on the big day. Poptropica sent him on a date with the Black Widow, and equally fearsome villain and surely a match.

The decision was to have them enjoy a Valentine’s Day picnic on Poseidon’s Beach in Mythology Island. Read on for a look at how things went.

Binary Bard was a little reluctant to attend at first, not knowing how it would go. But he arrived on-time at the beach and Black Widow followed soon after. The sight of two super-villains appearing sent most of the regular beach-goers scrambling, leaving the area just to them. Unfortunately, neither Mordred or the Black Widow really dressed for the occasion. The Binary Bard, with his metallic cyborg face and jester suit doesn't make many beach trips, and the Black Widow prefers dark and secluded places.

They got along well, but the date wasn’t very romantic. The sun kept reflecting off Mordred’s metallic face into the Black Widow’s eyes and neither one of them seemed particularly interested in partaking in any beach frolicking. Instead, the conversation quickly turned to their favorite topic: world domination. They decided to quickly abandon the date and retire to the darker and more mysterious confines of the secret underground headquarters of Mordred’s cult. There, they spent the entire night plotting a new takeover of Poptropica. Kind of romantic in a villainous sort of way, don’t you think?

Oh My God In Poptropica Part 2

The second Valentines for Villains date happened on Monday night, on the eve of Valentine’s Day. We all voted to see who should accompany super-villain Gretchen Grimlock (your arch-nemesis from Cryptids Island) on a date and where they should go. You voted and decided that the lucky guy would be Sir Gawain from Astro-Knights Island and that they would be enjoying a casual meal at the 24 Carrot Diner. Here’s how everything went down.

Gretchen Grimlock is a weathly adventurer and businesswoman and has a lot of resources at her disposal, including top-notch fashion designers. We asked the Poptropica Secrets community to make some suggestions as well, and there were plenty. Some of the best suggestions were to find an outfit that allowed her to show off her rather striking hairdo, a perfect Valentine’s pink and white display. In the end, she decided to take that advice and go with a blue gown. It also complimented Sir Gawain’s regal blue armor.

Sir Gawain had to travel quite a bit from the planet Arturus which is the Ice Planet to the Poptropica planet. Fortunately, he traveled by spaceship (a custom ride he had build on Pewter Moon). He landed outside the mansion belonging to Harold Mews, where Gretchen was waiting. They then took off together for a quick flight to 24 Carrot Island. Upon arrival, they were greeted by the Mayor, who has been busy trying to drum up tourism for the island ever since Dr. Hare was defeated and the carrots stopped disappearing. He was thrilled to have two celebrities visit the local diner for such a highly publicized date.

Gretchen and Sir Gawain settled into a cozy booth along the wall and were served a nice meal by the waitress. They enjoyed some carrot and coriander soup served with a side of baked baby carrots. For dessert, you guessed it–carrot cake. They enjoyed deep conversation and seemed to hit it off very well. There was only one minor setback–a stranger kept peering into the window of the diner trying to get their attention. The local police investigated and chased off the intruder. Following dinner, they each grabbed some carrot smoothies and headed off in Sir Gawain’s spaceship to visit the recently vacated beach hut on Shark Tooth Island. While there, they built a campfire and enjoyed a relaxing evening together under the stars.

It was a hit! Looks like love is in the air over Booga Bay. Next up: the Binary Bard’s date with Black Widow. Can two of the most devious super-villains in Poptropica hit it off? We’ll find out soon!

Poptropica Twisted Thicket Sneak Peeks

Twisted Thicket Island On April 12 !!

At long last, Poptropica has announced the official launch date for Twisted Thicket Island, which will be Thursday, April 12. In the official blog, they mentioned there will be a countdown timer on the Poptropica home page, but it does not appear to be there just yet. As soon as we can figure out the exact launch time, we’ll update this post. In the meantime, don’t forget that you can read all the Poptropica cheats for Twisted Thicket and check out the trailers and sneak peek screenshots.

We’ll be putting together the full walkthrough and the cheats as soon as the island is released. It’s only a little over a week away!

Oh My God in Poptropica

This is what happened in Valentines Day.......

The first Valentine’s for Villains date took place this Saturday afternoon, a few days ahead of Valentine’s Day. Last week, we kicked off the Valentines for Villains event with a vote to see who Director D should take on his date and where they should go. You chose Betty Jetty as his date and the rooftop restaurant in Early Poptropica as the scene. So, we arranged for them to meet, and here’s how it unfolded…

We all knew that Director D would be wearing his trademark white tuxedo jacket and of course, his toupee. Betty wasn’t about to show up in her prison-issue garb, so she did some shopping and decided to opt for a contemporary black outfit that she had spotted while flying over Cryptids Island. It’s the outfit worn by the very fashionable woman on Main Street (the one with the dark sunglasses). The big surprise was her hair. Although Betty is known for her spiky pink hair, she decided to go a little more conventional–and elegant–for her date with the big D.

The date got off to an awkward start, as Director D seemed uncomfortable and unable to discuss anything but Betty Jetty’s hair. But the food soon arrived–a selection of over-sized vegetables grown in the giant’s garden up in the clouds. Once they began to eat, the conversation turned to common interests, such as world domination and the best way to manage a super-villain organization.

Betty Jetty and Director D discovered they had a lot in common and the conversation went on for several hours until the sun began to set and the fog started to roll in. Unfortunately, the wind started picking up as well, and this is where we miscalculated. A particularly strong gust swept across the rooftops, knocking Director D’s toupee clean off. Despite Betty Jetty’s reassurances that Director D was just as handsome bald as with hair, he became flustered and insisted on descending to the streets below to retrieve it.

The date ended as awkwardly as it began, but clearly Betty Jetty and Director D enjoyed themselves. So, fellow Cupids, it was a success! Hopefully we’ll have another one when the second Valentines for Villains date happens tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Fake Noses In Poptropica

Well, the Poptropica Creators had their fun April Fool’s joke about fake noses and I had mine about Poptropica closing but now April Fool’s Day is over and we’re back to (ahem) serious business. The Creators have followed up their joke by releasing actual fake noses in the Poptropica Store. These are fake nose, glasses, and mustache combo items and there are three different varieties.

You can get them in green, purple and red and they all give you a fun and foolish kind of look. Expect to see them popping up in the multiplayer rooms like crazy.

Fun fact: this is not the first time that fake nose and glasses have been available in Poptropica. For a very brief time, there was a pair of black glasses available in the sewers of Super Power Island. These were called the Goofy Glasses and they’re one of the 20 rarest items in Poptropica.

Another old favorite from the Store is being highlighted. It’s the April Fool’s outfit, which gives you a funny hat, bow-tie and a spritzer bottle that sprays when you press the space bar.
